Ebonyi govt reopens sealed First Bank of Nigeria Plc

The Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi has ordered the immediate reopening of Eke Market branch of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in Ebonyi State earlier sealed by the coordinator of Afikpo North Development Centre of COVID-19 Taskforce.
Speaking with journalists in Abakaliki, Governor Umahi stated that the coordinator never sought his permission or that of his Deputy, Barr. Kelechi Igwe before sealing the bank.
Governor Umahi who expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision noted that the coordinator would have sought the permission of his office before sealing the bank and called for the immediate reopening of the bank branch premises.
He noted that though the state government would not condone the activities of commercial banksĀ  that do not comply to the safety protocols set by the state government, but however called on them to fully comply to the safety protocols.
He assured the citizens that his administration would continue to work towards safeguarding the health of all the citizens of the state in order to stop the further spread of coronavirus in the state.
