Crompton Resources Ltd sues Domino’s Pizza company over N34m contract sum

Crompton Resources Ltd has taken a foreign owned company, Dominos’ Pizza, Cold Stone Ice-cream, to court over N34 million debt. It was said that Crompton Resources Ltd was contracted by Eat N’ Go Ltd, owners of Domino Pizza, in 2018 to execute the construction of some of its outlets in Lagos; and that Eat N’ Go Ltd refused to pay the contract sum balance of N34, 000, 000.

The claimant was said to have condemned the conduct of Eat N’ Go Ltd as not just reprehensible but unbecoming of a company owned, controlled and managed by foreigners.

Crompton Resources Limited is a duly registered Nigerian company which engages in the business of building construction and allied matters with registered office address in Lagos and was contracted y Eat and Go Ltd., owners of franchise of Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery) in 2018 to execute the construction of some of its outlets in Lagos.

The suit filed at the State High Court, Lagos further stated that some of the outlets constructed, equipped and furnished by Crompton Resources for Eat and Go Ltd include: 434, Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town, Lagos; 1, Ologolo Village Road, Ologolo, Jakande, Lagos and Iju Ishaga Road, Iju, Lagos.

It was further averred that as soon as the outlets were completed Eat and Go Limited refused to pay the balance of the contract sum of N34 million till date.

When the matter came up for hearing on March 5, 2020, the judge, Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of the Ikeja division of the court further adjourned the case to May 5, 2020.
