Nigeria Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Legal Defence and Assistance Project (LEDAP) have joined the annual global campaign for 16 days to press for the rights of women and girls.
As part of this campaign LEDAP and NHRC are committed to globally
end violence against Women and ”highlights the urgent need to stop violence against women.
This year’s campaign theme, “Every 10 minutes, a Woman is killed. #No Excuse. UNITE to save WOMEN.
Activism against Gender Based Violence commencing today, 25th November to 10th of December (Human Rights Day) to raise awareness and educate the public about the impact of violence against women and girls

Today, 25th November, 2024 all international organizations will join this campaign and take bold steps to end gender-based violence as (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) and concluding on the
these initiatives to emphasize the need for collective action to create a safe and equitable environment for all to live, and also support survivours by improving access to justice, counseling and safe spaces.
Legal Defence and Assistance Project (LEDAP), in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission
urge Nigerians, institutions, government agencies, and civil society organizations
to promote healthy behaviours and encourage men to stand against violence perpetrated on women, and to ensure that laws prohibiting gender-based violence are effectively enforced.
“Together we can ensure a future where all women and girls live free from fear and violence”, the group said.
