The 10th Convocation Lecture of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, was yesterday delivered by the fiery lawyer, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a two-time National Award winner of OFR and CON, Chief Mike Ozekhome, (PhD), LLD.
In his 83-page, well-researched and documented lecture which earned him a resounding applause from the audience, he spoke passionately on “The Place of Education in a Crisis-Ridden Nigeria”.
Ozekhome got a surprise package shortly after the lecture, when the founder and Chancellor of ABUAD, Aare Afe Babalola,SAN,CON,OFR,LL.D, presented him, his wife, lady ( Bar) Josephine Ozekhome, his sons, Bars Oshomha and Osilama, in the midst of the mammoth crowd of friends, well wishers,students, staff of ABUAD and traditional rulers with a well decorated birthday cake to mark his 65th birthday.
The cutting of the cake and rendition of songs were led and supervised by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR.
Today, Ozekhome will be awarded the LL.D Doctorate degree (HC), by the university along with former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni and the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Garba Elkanemi.
